Community Impact Report

20 Years of Performance, A Lifetime Of Impact

Note from the Artistic Director:

Dear Friends,

Thank you for being a part of the SPAA community! This has been an amazing 20-year journey, and it could not have been possible without the support of our staff, volunteers, parents, community partners, and most importantly the children we serve. When I started Serenity Performing Arts Academy in 2005, the vision was to make sure that there was an affordable and accessible outlet for children and families in my community to express themselves through the performing arts. I was determined to make this happen simply because I knew what it was like to be a creative, but not always having the resources to attend a summer enrichment program or any performing arts event.

As we stood the test of time, little did I know how much of an impact SPAA would have on so many people living in my community. During these 20 years, we have been able to develop new program activities such as our Monthly Performance Opportunity, the Performing Arts Summer Camp, and our newest program activity, the Performing Arts Workshop Series.

In the non-profit sector, we are still considered a very young organization, but as I reflect over the years, I can confidently say we are doing big things in our community! So, as we celebrate this 20-year milestone, I want to express my sincerest appreciation for your continued support, and we look forward to many more years of providing equal access and exposure to the performing arts for children and families in Northeast Houston.

With deep gratitude,
